Posted: 21 Jul 2012 02:50 PM PDT

While the OUYA -- the Android-based, hackable video game console -- is still raking in funds on its multi-million dollar Kickstarter project, the secretive nature of the project is raising questions for game developers.

"How can the OUYA convince developers who are sitting on the sidelines to jump in?" asks Gree Vice President of Studio Operations Anil Dharni. "I am very interested, but where are the users? Where are the gamers?"

Until three months ago, Dharni was the Chief Operating Officer of Funzio, which released three well-received titles on iOS and one on Android. He and CEO Ken Chui sold Funzio to Gree for $210 million, giving Gree, a Japanese social network that has been ex…

‘Will you visit me in prison?’ Asks James Holmes on Adult Sex Profile

Posted: 21 Jul 2012 01:20 PM PDT

While an online search for mass-murder suspect James Holmes across the usual social networks such as Facebook and Twitter has come up empty, TMZ is reporting Holmes's identity on a different kind of social network -- AdultFriendFinder.

AdultFriendFinder -- an adults-only website dedicated to connecting people for sexual purposes -- has reportedly verified Holmes's profile, according to TMZ.

While the profile contained personal information and some of Holmes's sexual preferences, it was the profile's headline, "Will you visit me in prison?" that stood out.

The photo in the profile shows Holmes with dyed orange/reddish hair. After apprehended, Holmes also reportedly told the po

Aurora Police Confirm via Twitter: Controlled Detonation a Success

Posted: 21 Jul 2012 12:56 PM PDT

The investigation surrounding the theater shooting continues today as authorities attempt to get inside the mind, or at least the apartment, of suspect James Holmes.

The Aurora Police Department arrived at Holmes's one-bedroom apartment yesterday to find that it had been rigged with a number of "victim-initiated" booby-traps. Officials noted wires, trip wires, and what appeared to be jars full of liquid accelerant and ammunition. Techno music was blaring from the bedroom -- Holmes had apparently left it playing as he left for the theater.

In a media update earlier today, Aurora Police stated they would be releasing any breaking news via their Twitter account.

Alleged Killer Effortlessly Bought 6,000 Rounds of Ammo Online [VIDEO]

Posted: 21 Jul 2012 11:47 AM PDT

It's easy to buy ammunition online, and theater shooting suspect James Holmes took advantage of that fact when he acquired 6,000 bullets with just a few clicks.

It was easy enough for Holmes to acquire the weapons he allegedly used in the crime -- he bought them at Denver area gun shops. But it was the purchase of the ammunition that raised our eyebrows. Picking up a few thousand rounds online was a bit more involved than the process you'd use to buy Beanie Babies, though, with ammo sites asking for documentation before they'll fork over the bullets:

Be at least 21 years of age
Submit a copy of a government issued identification that shows yo…

Posted: 21 Jul 2012 10:19 AM PDT

The mass killings that occurred Friday morning at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado served as a tragic reminder that villains exist in the real world, not just in Gotham City.

James Holmes, a 24-year-old student from the University of Colorado, allegedly showed up in head-to-toe protective gear and opened fire on a packed and unsuspecting theater full of people, killing 12 and injuring another 59.

Social media users are calling for a hero.

Since late yesterday, Facebook pages, videos and petitions have been popping up all over the web urging actor Christian Bale to pay a visit to recovering victims of the massacre -- dressed in his Batman suit.

Facebook-world-600

It's no coincidence that Ford and Coca-Cola have stepped up praise of Facebook ads in recent weeks. Despite initial skepticism resulting from both the novelty of the platform and the inaccurate comparisons to Google AdWords, big-ticket advertisers are beginning to realize Facebook ads' ability to drive sales.

But Facebook ads aren't just good for sales. They also represent a tremendous opportunity in the field of recruitment because they can essentially target and attract candidates who are unreachable through traditional channels. If you want to know why your recruitment efforts need Facebook ads, here's why.

World’s Worst Movie Gets a Retro iPhone Game

Posted: 21 Jul 2012 09:11 AM PDT

In 1966, a suspense/horror film titled Manos: The Hands of Fate sought to creep out American audiences with the story of a wayward family ensnared by an insidious cult. In reality, it was hailed as one of the worst movies ever produced. It probably would have decomposed in a film vault somewhere, never to be spooled again, if it wasn't for the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000. In a 1993 episode, Joel Hodgson and his robot pals tore into the campy flick with their signature commentary, bringing it back into the zeitgeist. Among fans of the show, it's never left.

That's why we were delighted to discover that FreakZone games, a UK developer, has re-imagined the bizarre movie…
