Why Scarlett Johansson's Ad Was Banned From the Super Bowl

Cheap shot, SodaStream. The do-it-yourself soda maker takes a direct tackle against Coke and Pepsi in its latest ad featuring spokesperson Scarlett Johansson. But the ad won't be seen by anyone during this year's Super Bowl broadcast -- and it's not because ScarJo gets too sexy in it.

How does Mashable know what's going viral?
Mashable built a system called Velocity, which scours the social web, collecting lots and lots of data around how people are engaging with published articles. It then pulls all of that data back to Mashable, dumps it into our own predictive engine, and predicts which articles are about to go viral.
