| Google to Offer Music and Movies to Google TV Owners in Europe Posted: 09 Nov 2012 04:53 AM PST   Google will start offering Google Play music and movies to Google TV owners in the UK, Germany and France starting November 13, the company has announced. Google previously announced the service will also be available in Canada and Australia on that date as well, but that hasn't happened. Google has apologized for that announcement, adding it's bringing Google Play to more countries "all the time." The ability to buy or rent movies, TV shows and music through Google Play on a Google TV device was initially launched in the U.S. in October 2012. According to Patently Apple, a recent patent filing details a new form of iOS device packaging that transforms into a dock. As pictured, the concept looks very similar to Apple's current iOS device packaging. The species was discovered in the plentiful fossil beds of Canada. Weighing in at 2 tons and about 20 feet long, Xenoceratops — meaning "alien-horned face" — lived about 80 million years ago, making it one of the oldest big-bodied horned dinosaurs known to paleontologists. Though it has only recently been identified as a separate species, Xenoceratops was identified from fossils discovered in 1958, only to be misidentified for several decades before taking its rightful place as a separate species. Groupon's stock tanked in after hours trading following the company's disappointing third-quarter earnings results. Shares dropped more than 15% to a new low of $3.30 in after-hours trading. Groupon reported a net loss of $2.98 million, or zero cents a share, on revenue of $568.6 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30. Analysts were expecting earnings of 3 cents a share on revenue of $591 million. Earlier in the day, the Chicago-based company announced that it was laying off 80 employees from its sales department -- a small fraction of its overall staff, which numbers above 10,000. | Priceline Acquires Kayak for $1.8 Billion Posted: 08 Nov 2012 01:52 PM PST Priceline is acquiring Kayak for $1.8 billion in cash and equity, the two companies announced Thursday after the stock market closed. Priceline, an online travel booking service, will pay $500 million in cash and $1.3 billion in stock options to acquire Kayak. That works out to be about $40 per share paid out to Kayak's shareholders. Kayak launched eight years ago and went public in July at $26 a share. The company's stock has bounced around since then, ending Thursday at around $31 a share.
